Job Description

The Technical Support Analyst is a semi-skilled level position responsible for using software to program CNC machine tools in support of the Machine Shop.  This individual must ensure programs are created and downloaded so that they can be readily used by the operator, as well as working to optimize machine efficiency. This role will support and assist in machine trouble shooting and testing as well as cutting tool research and purchasing.


Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with production planning to supply operations the necessary programs and sketches
  • Ability to support varying tasks and projects based on supervisory direction
  • Generation and support of Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • 3D Modeling / Drafting / Programming
  • Be able to read, interpret and understand technical drawings and geometric dimensions and tolerance callouts
  • Identification and testing of cutting tools
  • Departmental drafting, Using NX CAD to provide machinists with additional information
  • Design and building of fixtures for the automation of processes
  • Machinist Training and Leadership, Training machinists in G-Code, cutting tool use, math, and machine operation.

Education/ Experience

  • 5 years of FANUC CNC G-code Experience is required
  • 5 years of Machine Shop Experience is required
  • Ability to read blue prints and drawings is required
  • Strong computer skills is required
  • 1 to 3 years of CAM Programming experience is preferred
  • Multi-Axis CNC experience is preferred
  • Competency in Siemens NX CAM is preferred
  • Have an understanding of lean manufacturing is preferred
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve complex issues preferred


  • Applicant must be granted a minimum of an interim secret clearance prior to position commencing. They must be able to obtain and maintain a final secret clearance to remain in that position. 
  • Must be available to work all shift and extended hours as business needs dictate
  • Must be proficent in using computers (MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Lotus Notes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills preferred
  • Solid understanding of maching helpful (set-up, programming, operating)
