    Job Description

    This position is for a Level II UT inspector. Inspectors will be required to perform UT volumetric inspection duties in the various areas throughout the facility.

     

    Candidates will be required to be trained in the Quality Assurance systems, procedures, policies, and specifications and will perform ultrasonic inspection on welds, parts, components in various areas including on the hull sections. This will include structural and piping. Types of inspections may also include visual, dimensional, and other nondestructive test attributes. Inspectors will also be required to verify and certify work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications and record and report inspection results.

     

    The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as required.

    Education/ Experience

    Requirements:

    • Current or previous certification as Level II UT is required
    • 1+ years of previous shipyard or similar manufacturing experience is required
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints is required
    • Previous inspection, quality control or quality assurance experience is required
    • Applicant must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams, and understand basic layout functions
    • Must possess basic mathematical, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be able to work all shifts, heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
    • Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals

    Preferred / Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge of shipboard assemblies, installations and foundations is preferred
    • Military/Navy experience preferred
    • High school diploma/GED preferred; additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs

    Skills

    Applicants must apply for a DOD Security Clearance as a condition of employment. They may be required to obtain and maintain a final secret clearance to remain in this position.
