The Electric Boat Career Development Program is a two year leadership development program that combines instructor led, leadership, and trade training. Every successful candidate will have an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills by participating in three multi-month rotations in which participants immerse themselves in the role of an Operations Supervisor. During the rotations and trade training the candidate will also be participating in various leadership programs and a mentoring program to ensure their success and growth. The knowledge and skills that the Career Development Program provides will prepare the selected candidate to be a successful Operations Supervisor and leader in our Groton, CT shipyard or our Quonset Point, RI manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate must provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of hourly trade employees. Core to this position is the successful performance of the team’s Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement. Effective communication, leadership, creating a positive team environment with employees and peers is key to success for the selected candidate. This position provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boats’ business.
